meet the cOACH

My name is Rick Hart and I've been coaching youth baseball for over 20 years. Hitting is my expertise and teaching it is my passion. I have always said “a coach never sits a hitter on the bench”. So let me teach your child or player to be the best hitter he or she can be.

I want to share my special teaching method with as many players, parents and coaches as I can. In all the years I have been involved in youth baseball I have never seen or heard of anyone that teaches my method for hitting which I call, “hitting as a reflex action”. My method focuses mostly on a player’s visual and mental ability to hit a baseball, which in my experience is about 80% of hitting. This method can miraculously improve a poor hitter’s ability in just a few lessons. I am so sure of my method I do not charge a fee until you are satisfied with the results.

I have my own hitting machine, bats and equipment used for teaching hand eye coordination and tracking the ball. I videotape some lessons at the batting cages for diagnostic and teaching purposes and to show the before and after results.

Qualifications:

While playing for Downey High School I was selected to the Moore League’s 1st team all-league and the CIF Southern Section 1st team as short stop.
I also played for Cerritos College.

Coaching experience:

In 13 years coaching at Cerritos Artesia Little League ages 8 to 18 years old.

Won 6 league championships.

2 time runner-up at District 29 Tournament of Champions.

3 time Little League All Star team coach.

Recently:
2013 I taught my method to the Westminster L.L. Minor B Dodgers which won the 2013 District 62 Tournament of Champions.

2015 season I helped coach hitting for my son’s Mustang Pony League team coming in second place out of 7 teams our first year in the league.

2017 I worked with 5 players on the 2017 Anaheim Nuts Pony Champions, having a undefeated

season. They went on to Win Their First All Star Memorial Day Tournament.
